Berllanderi is an ideal base for walking, climbing, canoeing, gliding and hot air ballooning. There are many golf courses nearby including the Celtic Manor golf course as well as castles such as Raglan and Caerphilly and historic towns.
From Berllanderi there are extensive views including Raglan Castle, the 'Sugarloaf' and 'Skirrid' mountains. The attractive towns of Usk, Monmouth and Abergavenny are only a few miles away and offer a variety of independent shops, restaurants and pubs. The Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons are within easy reach.
To the west lie the Brecon Beacons and to the east the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean. Monmouth and Newport are close by, and Cardiff and Bristol are only 40 minutes away. London is just two hours away by train.

Within 15 Minutes
Abergavenny is a market town with a variety of different markets each day of the week. The town has a rich mix of chain stores and many thriving independent shops. Whether you fancy an award winning Afternoon Tea at The Angel or simply having a latte at the Cwtch Cafe Abergavenny has a lot to offer.
Monmouth is the tourist centre at the heart of the Wye Valley as well as a market town. It has a rich blend of shops and is steeped in history originally the site of a Roman fort then later in 1067 the Normans built a castle.
Raglan is the local village just 1¼ miles down the road from Orchard Barn. Raglan is predominantly known for its large castle built in the 15th Century. Nowadays it serves as a local base to get essentials and has a fish and chip shop along with the Beaufort Arms inn.
Usk is a small town just 4 miles from Orchard Barn (turn right out of the gates). It is situated on the River Usk, which is spanned by an arched stone bridge. The town is very pretty and often has success in the Britain in Bloom competition even representing the United Kingdom in European competitions twice.

Three Castles of Skenfrith, Grosmont & Whitecastle this is a local walk that takes you on a tour of these three significant castles that formed a key line of defence for the Normans.
Tintern Abbey is a large ruin in the village of Tintern, it is spectacular in its scale and beauty dating back to 1131. It is the best-preserved medieval abbey in Wales.
Symonds Yat is a gorge once mined for its iron ore in the 16th century. It now offers spectacular views as the River Wye snakes through the gorge. Its a great location for canoeing down the rapids.
Big Pit at Blaenavon is a real coal mine and is a really good informative day out and includes an hour long tour 300 feet below ground through the mine with one of the actual miners as a tour guide, best of all its Free!
Cardiff is a vibrant city on our doorstep and also the capital of Wales. Cardiff offers top notch shopping with all the major brands available, but it is also much more than that. Cardiff houses the Millenium Stadium home to Welsh rugby.
Cardiff Bay located just outside Cardiff city centre offers a vibrant metropolitan waterside development with bars and attractions such as the Doctor Who Experience and Techniquest. It is also home to the Welsh Assembly government and Wales Millenium Centre - Europes most exciting performing art and cultural venue.
St Fagans National History Museum is a great free family day out. It is an outdoor museum that charts welsh life through it architecture through time. It houses many buildings from around Wales that have been painstakingly taken apart and rebuilt at St Fagans and offer glimpses of how we used to live.
Bristol and Bath are cities just over the border into England and have a lot to offer as exciting cities to visit. Bristol is a major economic centre, whereas Bath is full of charm featuring the orignal Roman Baths and the new Millenium Spa - where you can go and relax feeling pampered in the hot waters of the spa. Alternatively go to the Pump Rooms for a lovely afternoon tea.
Malvern is a pretty spa town made famous for its natural mineral water. There are many springs on the street around the town so remember to take your empty water water! A visit to malvern wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Morgan Motor Car factory where you can take a guided tour and see the skilled craftsmen at work as they create there bespoke sports cars (tours are only at limited times and pre-booking is essential)
Beaches if your holiday is not complete without a trip to the beach then the Gower Peninsula has beaches to offer by the bucketload and is recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The peninsula plays host to 21 beaches and as such there is something for everyones taste.
However if you are from Billericay and want to go on the trail of Gavin and Stacey you can always stop off at Barry Island, made famous from the BBC series it is home to Nessa's amusements and a pretty beach.
